Usually, the length of the runner corresponds to the length of the tablecloth. However, that’s not the only option to go with. For example, extra-long table runners can be longer than the tablecloth, and in some cases, have their edges slightly drape onto the floor. On bare tables, a runner will usually hang several inches over each edge. Two additional options are having the ends of the runner meeting each table edge or having it be a couple of inches short of the edge on both sides.
